Confessions of an Over-Packer

Hi guys! My name is Niamh Moore and I'm a friend of Talyah's. She's so kindly asked me to do a guest post for you guys. When she asked me, I immediately thought that I should write something that pertains to me as of right now. I am so incredibly blessed to be going to Ireland in early July to marry my high-school sweetheart. Now that the majority of the wedding planning is done, here comes the stress of PACKING. I've been known in the past to be a horrific over-packer. To the point where I was packing for literally any weather situation, no matter the season. I have since reformed my over-packing ways and want to share my "tips & tricks" with you guys.

Firstly, MAKE A LIST

...and make it early. I'm about 25 days away from my trip and I have a detailed outfit list made out. It also helps to pull the outfits out and actually style them before the day. If you're visual like me, it helps to see everything together and allows you to mix and match. Another wonderful thing about lists is that you avoid the horrifying realization that you left something important at home. (Another tip: bring a copy of the list with you, so you make sure you bring everything home!)

Okay, basics can be boring, I know. But the beautiful thing with basics is that you can mix and match your outfits and bring along accessories (take up less space in your luggage) to change the look up.

Some of my accessories:
Polka Dot Hat: J. Crew (old) | Oxblood Hat: BCBG | Bracelets: Stella & Dot and Charming Charlie

Ireland = Rain. So obviously I had to pack my Hunter wellies. But wait, aren't those HUGE?! Yes, they take up a large amount of space in my luggage. But the beauty of the boots is that you can actually roll up your clothes and put them INSIDE the luggage. Another plus, it helps shape the boot, so you don't have to worry about creases!!

And hey, while you may not be bringing everything in your closet, it just gives you an excuse to fill up your suitcase with new clothes!

When I get back from my trip, I'll make sure to do a post of me in my outfits, so you can get a better idea of mixing.

~Happy Traveling!~
