glo minerals review

I'm so excited to share that I've teamed up with glo minerals to bring you a natural, every day makeup  look and tutorial!

glo minerals offers a mineral makeup system uniquely designed for skincare professionals and their clients.
-powerful antioxidant blends of vitamins A, C, E & Green Tea Extract
-broad spectrum UVA & UVB sun and environmental protection
-non-comedogenic, talc free formulas make it the perfect choice for even the most sensitive skin
-formulated with anti-inflammatory ingredients

I was introduced to them a while back and immediately fell in love with their products. I was thrilled when they contacted me to share a review (and a promo code!) with my readers.

Step 1:
ALWAYS start with a clean, moisturized face. It makes a huge difference in the application, staying power and overall appearance of your skin and makeup.

Step 2:
I used the Luxe Liquid Foundation in Porcelain and applied it to my face.
A little bit of this product goes a LONG way (which is great because it lasts a long time that way!).
It's coverage is build-able and offers sheer to full coverage. I have EXTREMELY light skin, so just the fact that they offer a foundation that matches my skin so perfectly is impressive!

Step 3:
I cannot stress the importance of great makeup brushes. I am obsessed with this foundation kabuki. I prefer brushes for applying makeup over using your fingers because your fingers deposit dirt and oil. I prefer brushes over makeup sponges because the sponges soak up way too much makeup (that's just wasteful!) and harbor bacteria (you can't clean the sponge).
I absolutely recommend giving their brushes a try. Invest in a great brush cleaner and they'll last forever!
I used the brush to apply and blend the foundation all the way down and into my neck.

I loved the medium coverage that I achieved and it had the perfect, semi-dewey finish. I have extremely dry skin and this (unlike many foundations) felt great on. It didn't try out my skin at all and is very breathable to wear!

Step 4:
I used a blush brush to apply their blush in sweet to my cheekbones and apples of my cheeks in an upward, sweeping motion. The blush is also very build-able and easy to apply.

I loved the blush because the first application wasn't immediately too much like a lot of other blushes. It was subdued and I just added a couple more layers to achieve the amount I wanted.

Step 5:
I applied the eye shadow (again with a brush) starting with the lightest color (sand pebble) to the brow bone, just below the brow and along the lash line, blending into the inside corner of my eyelid.
I then added the next lightest color (orchid) to my entire lid, meeting the lightest color on my brow bone.
After that I applied the darkest color (twig) to the crease of my eyelid. Adding a darker color to the crease gives depth and definition to the eyelid. Concentrate more eye shadow toward the outside of the eye verses the inside.
Blend with the brush so the colors glide effortlessly into one another.

sand pebble and orchid have a beautiful shimmer to them and twig has the perfect matte finish. Two things I always look for in an eye shadow are build-ability and blend-ability. These encompass both. Easy to build to go from a casual to more formal look and easy to blend enhancing the look.

Step 6:
I used an eye liner brush and the eye shadow in twig to line my top and bottom lash line. glo minerals also offers a number of excellent eyeliner options but this is a great trick to know!

Step 7:
I used an eyelash curler to gently curl my top lashes, then swept on a few layers of the Volumizing Mascara in black. I started applying at the inside corner of the top lashes and worked out, layering on to achieve the desired look. I then applied a little to my bottom lashes as well.

Step 8:
I took the Gloss in nude and applied it to the edge of my top and bottom lips.
I then took the naked gloss and added it to the parts of my lips that I wanted to appear the plumpest (the middle of the top and bottom lips).
Applying a lighter color to these areas highlights them, making them appear larger.
I will be the first to admit that I am a HUGE lipgloss critic but these passed my test with flying colors!
It is the perfect consistency (not too gloopy) and has just the right saturation. It feels great on!

The completed look was perfect for everyday wear and a great "natural beauty" highlighter. I recommend practicing this look a few times. Once you've mastered it, it is easy to execute in about 10  minutes making it great for early mornings (especially if your mornings are anything like mine!)
