First off, happy Monday! I had a wonderful past few days at Denver Fashion Week and have some very exciting things to share with you over the next couple of weeks.
Today I want to talk about the colors featured in this look and the versatility of the mid-length skirt.
Pastels are obviously everywhere and I love how it pairs with this saddle brown. One of the best things about this color, and a skirt like this, is that it is a great year-round option. It works wonderfully in the spring and summer months (especially as a shoe and bag color!) and works just as well during the cooler months (think dresses, pants, coats, etc.). It really grounds the soft and bright feel from the pastel and white and I think it makes it much less intimidating to incorporate the pastel trend into your wardrobe. I wore both silver and gold which, in my opinion, also blends the trendy silver with classic gold. Wearing gold with silver can help "take the edge off" for anyone intimidated by the modern silver trend. I purchased this particular skirt from Asos last year so it is no longer available but I have linked above to a number of similar options that I love! Just remember that if you are purchasing a skirt to wear in all weather to look for a fabric and weight that is versatile (not too heavy, not too light, etc.).  A good mid-weight fabric is best. You can always layer underneath during the winter with slips or leggings!
I also love the feel of this outfit for Mother's Day. It is the perfect brunch outfit! Speaking of Mother's Day, stay tuned for a collaborative post where I highlight my top gift picks for the Momma's in your life.
